3.    Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (Classes VI-IX)

The academic year is divided into two terms – April to September and October to March. The assessment will be done in scholastic and co-scholastic aspects.  Scholastic aspects will include subject specific areas whereas co-scholastic aspects will include the life skills, co-curricular activities, attitudes and values.   Each term comprises of two kinds of Evaluations:
a)    Formative Assessment (FA). This will comprise of the Unit Tests and the activities such as projects, practicals, assignments, symposiums, debates etc.
b)     Summative Assessment (SA) in the form of term end examination.

The performance of the student will be assessed using conventional numerical marking mode and the same will be later converted into grades using a seven point grading scale.
The cumulative result will be calculated as follows:

Formative Assessment 2 10%
Summative Assessment 1 30%

Formative Assessment 3 10%
Formative Assessment 4 10%
Summative Assessment 2 30%
Cumulative      
Formative Assessment FA1+FA2+FA3+FA4 = 40%
Summative Assessment SA1+SA2=60%
Total 100

In addition to the academic performance the students would also be evaluated in the areas indicating their attitude towards teachers, schoolmates, school programmes etc.  The teachers will maintain a record of the students’ responses, behaviour and attitude towards all aspects of school life.  The student’s rapport with the teachers and classmates will also be assessed.  Active participation in various school programmes and competitions will be recorded and subsequently graded.
