2017-2018

TEACHERS

  • A Capacity Building workshop on Inclusive Strategies was organised by CBSE in Remal Public School on 18 & 19 April, 2017. Resource persons Ms. Usha Anand and Ms.Geetanjali Kumar engaged the participants in an interactive session to provide in-depth understanding of inclusion opportunities to learn new skills & strategies to sharpen teaching skills by incorporating new ideas and aids. 
  • A Seminar was conducted at St Marks Sr. Sec School on 22 April, 2017 on the “Discussion of Project in Class XII” for the Economics teachers. The resource person Prof. J.P. Goel gave an insight into the way projects could be introduced and planned as indicated by CBSE in 2017-18 Syllabus. Among inputs from other teachers, topics like Demand and its Determinants, Price Determination, Disinvestment etc were taken up for discussion. The deletions and change in syllabus were also discussed. 
  • A Capacity Building workshop was organised by CBSE in Gurugram on 18 & 19 May, 2017. Resource persons Mr. G.K. Mishra and Mrs. Meenu engaged the participants in techniques of planning a lesson including the aspects of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Planning and conducting of Practicals as per the new format of CBSE Examination was also discussed. 
  • A workshop was organized for teachers of classes III-V on 23 June, 2017 on developing Positive attitude. Resource person Ms. Anuradha Majumdar gave various tips to inculcate positive thinking and urged the teachers to keep negative thinking at bay. 
  •  A workshop was organised for teachers of classes I, II & VI on 28 June, 2017 on incorporating life skills in academics. Resource person Ms Anu Singh highlighted that the teachers should use practical techniques to build a student teacher rapport for engaging students and inculcating values in them. 
  • A workshop on Learning Outcomes was organized where the Resource person Mr. M.V. Srinivasan emphasized on the inclusion of learning outcomes in class room teaching to enable the students to use their skills and abilities and render the curriculum more democratic. 
  • CBSE organized a Capacity Building workshop on Challenging Areas in class XII –English Core on 21 & 22 July, 2017. Resource persons Ms Ruchi and Ms Rajni  emphasized on activity based learning to maximize student participation. In addition, they also suggested some strategies to score better in board exams. 
  • CBSE organized a Capacity Building workshop ‘The Teaching of Science’ on 20 & 21 February, 2018. Resource persons Dr. Parul Tyagi & Mr. G.K. Mishra stressed on set objectives that touch cognitive and psychomotor development of learners and enganged the participants in techniques of planning a lesson including the aspects of Blooms Taxonomy. 
  • A workshop on Transition from school to University was organized by Dean students, welfare Office D.U  led by(Dr. Rajesh Tandon). The workshop proved instrumental in providing necessary information on the admission process in Delhi University along with a plethora of career options and eligibility conditions of various courses.


PARENTAL

  • A workshop was organized for the parents of Special Need Children on 24 June, 2017. Resource person Ms Sonia discussed the various difficulties like Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and suggested techniques to enhance working memory and tackle writing issues. She highlighted the role of occupational therapy in behavior modification and academics, inciting awareness of brain gym, consistency in special educator and psychiatrist medicine as the need of the hour. 
  • A workshop was organized for the parents of class III students on 7 October, 2017. Resource person Dr. Shilpa Gupta proved instrumental in providing solutions to everyday concerns that parents face in dealing with their children and also suggested ways to focus on aspects like time management, discipline and perseverance to help children lead a fulfilling life. 
  • A workshop was organised for the parents of Class VI students on 28 October, 2017. It aimed at sensitizing the parents towards adolescent behavior and conflict resolution. Resource person Dr. Shilpa Gupta advised the parents to be role models for their children and help them in their overall development.


STUDENTS

  • A workshop was organized for the students of Class X on Memory Development on 3 May, 2017. It aimed at providing students with some innovative techniques for making learning interesting and easy to relate in real life situations. The Resource Person Ms. Aditi Singhal named the laws of memory as AIR- Association, Imagination and Ridiculous thinking. She emphasized the importance of imaginative thinking in learning and the importance of healthy lifestyle. She decoded the formula of being an ACHIEVER as: Association, Concentration, Healthy Lifestyle, Imagination, Exercise your Brain, Value your time, Emotional Control, Revision Plan and Sleep. 
  • A workshop was organized for the students of class XII on 28 July, 2017 on changes in the CBSE Syllabus of Economics. Resource person Mr. S.K. Agarwala revealed the additions and deletions in detail and highlighted the importance of introducing Project Work in the curriculum. He also helped the students with the changed pattern of the question paper. 
  •   A career counselling workshop was organized for the students of class X on 12 October, 2017. Resource person Mr.Anubhav Kakheja stressed on the various career options available in today’s competitive world and guided the students in streamlining their choices after gauging their aptitude and interests. 
  •  HT PACE organized a Creative Writing workshop for the students of class V on 4 October, 2017. Resource Person Ms Anuradha Mazumdar emphasized on how creative thoughts can assist students to subdue their inhibitions and envision their artistic segment. She also suggested on ample usage of interrogative words to polish their oratory skills. 
  • An Art and Craft Workshop on ‘Wall Hanging’ was organized for the students of Class IV on 11 October, 2017. The workshop provided a platform to the students to channelize their creative energies. Resource person, Ms. Kiran demonstrated simple techniques of paper folding and created a beautiful wall hanging. This enriching workshop encouraged everyone to experience the exhilaration of creativity. 
  • A Cyber Safety Workshop was organized for the students of Classes VI-VIII in the month of November, 2017. The workshop aimed at promoting a responsible and safer internet ecosystem by enlightening the school students on cyber safety. 
  • A workshop was organized for the students of class XII on “How to score better in Accountancy” on 13 December, 2017. Resource person Mr.G.S. Grewal and Mr. R.K.Khosla guided the students to improve their scores by highlighting the common errors in the papers  They also emphasized on the new topic introduced in the curriculum and how the students can maximize their output. 
  • A workshop was organised for the students of Class XII on 19.12.2017 on tips to attempt the Economics paper. Resource person Mr. S.K. Agarwala laid emphasis on multi disciplinary questions and suggested ways to secure better marks in the Board Exams. He also highlighted the importance of project work in the curriculum. 
  • A Career Counselling workshop was organized for the students of class XI & Class XII on 27 November, 2017 & 04 December, 2017. Resource person Mr.Jitin Chawla stressed on the various career options available in today’s competitive world and guided the students in streamlining their choices after gauging their aptitude and interests.
